ok so i have found like 6 posts on shifts kits for our 97-03 trucks but none that were really of much use. Iam wanting to know if anybody has any experiences with a transgo shift kit in our year trucks? Also if there are any other better kits then the transgo for our trucks?

 

i honestly wouldnt get a shift kit i would get an edge programmer you can change the shift firmnes, it will shift harder by changing pressure in the lines you can also bump your shift points up. there is a **** ton of extra guages exc...... but it states you can run 87 octain on level 2 well thats crap i found out the hard way so id leave it on level 1 and change everything from there the biggest thing also if you have bigger tires or new gears you can change that on there for your speedo and it reads codes

 

thanks bp but i already have the edge tuner and i think thats why my trans is acting alil funny now ha and my customs tunes part of my tuner doesnt really work with my truck for some reason so i can only use the canned ones

 

do you think gears could help??

 

Had the same problem with mine. After dealing with Edge and not finding a solution, I sent it back and bought a CS. It works flawlessly with the custom settings.

Now I remember we already discussed this. I take it you didn't have any luck returning it to Edge?

That sucks. With all of the posts having the EXACT problem, it seems like a programming glitch they should deal with.
Bad customer service on their part.

I know it was the programmer and not my truck because my CS works flawlessly.

 

What is a CS? I just got a 2003 f150 7700 series with a 5.4 lookin to tune it up so to speak.

 

The CS is the color screen version of Edge's Evolution. The original Evolution had power cord problems with the 97 thru 2003 truck models, and would fry the computers.
The CS has a fancier color screen, and none of the problems. About $80 more.

 

if you are talking about the tunes edge gives you, you just haft to mess with it, if you have a custom tune as in put it on a computer i wouldnt mix that with the edge or you might have one big computer issue
