service engine soon does not light

Default service engine soon does not light

i just bought this truck a few weeks ago its a 01 lariat with the 5.4... when i bought it the MIL worked came on when first start the truck.. than it would turn off after like 5 sec like it supposed to. even the day i went to take it through inspection it worked til i got to dvm i was failed cause the MIL wont light up at all no codes are in the truck though.. the odometer comes on and off idk if that part of the issue or not. hopefully someone can point me in the right direction

Sounds to me like the bulb is burnt out and the odomiter dosent have anything to do with it that's justan issue with the 99-03 didgital odomiters

U want it to throw a code and get the light to turn on? Turn the truck on then while its running unplug a fuel injector plug and let it idle. Funny for about a minute. Or unplug a coil pack and let it idle funny. IT WILL CODE and your engine light will come on. To get it turned on unhook your battery cable and pump the breaks. Irk if pumping the breaks is necessary but I do it anyway and it clears the engine light.

ive searched online to find that there is not a bulb for the service engine light. its a circuit board with a micro LED on it. but i couldnt find any fixes for how to make it work

then i dont know how to fix it because i know that it dosent work on my dads 97 too

no it doesnt light KOEO thats the reason it failed inspection.. they sais no codes in the truck but the light needs to come on when KOEO to pass

idk if it be an issue with the pcm? or something in the guage cluster? i checked all the fuses ans they all checked ok
