Default SCT

I just received mine yesterday, updated and programmed the preinstalled 87 Tune. Did not change any other parameters. Not much change yet, but only have drive about 10 mi, so far. It did seem just a tad peppier and a slight change in shift quality. My truck is a 01 SuperCrew 2wd 5.4 with 116k mi. A month ago just had plugs changed and all fluids changed. Trans, P/S, Coolant, Rear axle and brake fluid.
I am looking for increased driveablity and economy. Not lot for more power really, it does fine, but will welcome any power gains. I believe a reasonable power gain increases efficiency in normal driving.

If you see any mileage improvements (you probably won't, I did not), how long will it take you to get back the $300+ you spend on the tuner?

As said by many, these just really don't do much compared to the 11th gen and later trucks. Shift quality improvements, sure, but no real horsepower or torque gains, even if you do a 93 octane tune.

Yea these engines require a lot of/ serious modification to warrant a tuner. With this gen you can add long tube headers and increase intake... still , - a tune is not required.

Pays to research first, not hype, but forums.... or hell, just ask.
