so a friend of mine informed me that he had an sct tuner from his 02 f150. and he was willing to sell it since he no longer had the truck. but wasnt sure if it could be used on my truck. which is also an 02 f150. so the question is can i buy it from him and install it? or do i need to flash for it? or is it only for that specific vehicle?

 

Depends very much on what model tuner it is and also if he unmarried it from his truck or not. If its still vin locked to his truck, won't work for anybody until unlocked by SCT who charges $150 to do so. Does it say preloaded flash device on front bottom or x3 3000?

 

If he unlocked it from his truck you are good to go.
