Sct tune question
Got my tuner in today and have been messing with it a bit. I'm using the 91 octane canned tune until I get a custom one. The problem I'm having is getting it to shift from 1-2 where I want it to. It's shifting right at 4800 now. I have it set to shift at 5300 and I don't understand why it won't shift there.
I have 285-75-16 bfg at ko tires and I set the revs per mile to 615. Is that correct? Not sure what I'm doing wrong here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You also need to adjust yer rev limiter to allow at least 400-600 rpm, of 'headroom' above whatever yer max shift point is set to.
Don't set the 3-4 shift point any higher than 4800 rpm.

Yer rev/mile should be 630-634 (then factor in 3% 'squish'). Fine tune with a GPS.
good luck

Awesome, thanks man I'm getting it dialed in now that helped a lot. Should I mess with the air fuel ratio or spark control at all? Or should I leave that to the guys that know what they are doing?
Nosir - leave those be. SCT knows what they are doing - safety is paramount, at the end of the day.
good luck!

Thanks again man. Ok so when I leave it in drive and just floor it, it will shift at 4900. If I manually shift it, it will do what I want (5300). I've got my rev limiter while driving set at 6k and my wot shift set at +7 mph, that's maxed out and it still won't shift where I like while in drive.

Very odd. I'd suggest calling SCT's Tech support. Could be a possible issue with your specific PCM's strategy code and the canned tune compatibility. You will need to pull that HEX code with the device and write it down beforehand.
Mine are all @ 5400/5300/4800 with rev limiter @ 6K - no issues - all my tunes are set up that way.
Good luck

At the moment - vintage 9400. That's one reason I still use it - actual revs and not 'mph' displayed.
If SCT can't resolve this due to yer vehicle's age, or whatever other reason, you may need to consider custom tuning from one of the reputable tuning vendors on here.
BTW - re-confim both yer tire rev/mile AND yer gear ratio settings are correct.
good luck
