Default screaching sound.

Last night I heard a clunk in the rear of vehicle. Thought someone hit me. Started driving after I found no damage and now I hear this screaching sound like metal on metal. I believe the sound is coming from the front. Doesn't make the noise when im not moving. Any ideas? Trans? Breaks?

Have you recently had any maintenance done on the brakes?

Yeah. Actually I just had them replaced. Went out to get ice cream and it feels like something heavy is flapping under neath. Don't seem driveable

I dont know if this would be it but check your brake calipers... I replaced one in my truck and didnt put any of that lock tight stuff on the bolts and one fell out driving down the road. I heard what sounded like metal on metal and it was my brake caliper scratching my rim. I would take the tires off and check them... Even if its not it the calipers, might give you a little more room to look around and see if anythings hanging down.

Well I took it up to my cousins shop. They just put new brakes on. Maybe that has something to do with it. Hopefully its something cheap.

Definitely sounds brake related. 2WD or 4WD? Might be the wheel bearings on a 2WD which is part of the rotor assembly.
