Ya I lost track along time ago was cheap but then add building axles tires rims shocks heim joints tubing etc. I made alot of parts at work high steer arm steering linkage but if u can make it yourself that's where the big bucks start coming in on having someone make parts and build your truck for you.

If you pinch pinnies and try to do it cheap, that's exactly what you'll have. Spoken from someone who's been there.

Spend the money and don't shortcut yourself, and you'll have a sweet offroad capible rig. If not youll have a piece that's a yard ornament.

If I were doing another rig I'd go 39.5's-44's. 1 ton axles, And not much lift.

^did you trim the fenders any? I would do a SAS on 1 tons and run portals, even though theyre not as strong as the axle...but the technology is getting there. wont have much lift to it but tons of flexing and travel, since it will be low to run 40s it would look something like this:

and yes I know that truck has IFS.

I figure mine will be around +/-1500 without wheels and tires. However I'm staying medium size(35-38")

To answer your question, no I didn't trim my fenders. I had roughly 22-24" of lift give or take.

How I set it up, I could run "stock lift" leafs from an 73-87 Chevy and still stuff some 40's under it. I had a body lift too, to make it possible.

Crap didn't mean to submit it,

Those axles your talking about are far from cheap lol, there's a reason it's featured in a magazine.

If you want cheap go with a 14 bolt with 4:10 gears and find a front ford 60 that also has 410 gears. The front axle will be the most costing part, and set your truck up how I did and run stock springs, with 39.5" boggers, it would be **** and would walk!

It will give you a stock ride as well, win/win
