RV towing ?
So my wife and I are discussing getting a toy hauler but I'm unsure of just how much I can get away with pulling.

I've also got the trailer brake wiring/kit on the truck so it's setup to control a trailers brakes. My concern is more in regards to what these can actually tow weight wise and not damage the tranny or overload the suspension.

A fifth wheel is actually easier to haul and better weight transfer, but what size, i have hauled a 28 foot camper all around where i live with my truck, which is only a 4.6l 4x4. Your truck can haul up to 8000 without much trouble and i dont think you will be getting close to that.
I would say youd be fine, what do plan to be pulling in it? Does your truck already have a trans cooler? If not i would look into buying one for your truck, they are fairly cheap and will safe your transmission. Best way to figure out if you have one is look infront of your rad and there should be a small intercoolor on the lower driver side of the rad.

You should be fine with whatever you get, my dad used to have a 98 4.6 L F-150 and we regularly used it to tow a 30 ft 5th wheel camper w/ slideout and a large enclosed snowmobile trailer. He still has it and it has just over 300 000kms, due to the heavy workload we put it through it is a little rough around the edges though.
what your kidding me right ! i got a 27.5 fifth wheel"coachman chaperal" i pull with my F150 4.2 V6 yes V6 5 speed manual 4.10 gears theirs a guy that pulls a 35footer with the newer 05 f150 5.4
