F150............Good!
Salt on roads...........bad.
That will need a replacement rocker panel and you will need to do BOTH sides since both sides were exposed to the same conditions.
Rust never sleeps, and it's just a matter of time until the other side pops through.
It's gonna cost ya.
There are other solutions that people post on other forums that work and cost a lot less, but if I post anything other than "replace the panel", the young know- it- all kids here jump my case since they are so expert in everything, so I'm not going to help them get their cookies off by giving them an excuse to show how smart they are and tell me how stupid I am.
You can search this site for other solutions and yahoo or google "repair rusted rocker panel". In fact before I started cutting and welding rocker panels, I would definitely check for other options.

Not trying to try to act smart but could you cut out the rust and weld in some metal instead of buying new rockers?

You could do that but u would have to replicate the shape of the rocker panel. Which would require a decent amout of knowledge of how to work sheet metal.

Maybe the young know-it-all kids have purchased trucks from you old been-there-done-that farts and are sick of seeing ****ty half assed patch jobs.

Depends really what you see yourself doing with the truck. If you see yourself keeping a long time, or even selling it off then do it right. If you plan on scrapping the truck in a year go ahead and do a "quick" patch job. However there are write ups on here that show you how to do it properly in about a quarter the time it takes to do a fiberglass patch.
