Went over to Vatozone today and there was a girl there that has a 3V F150 that she busted the number 7 plug in. However, the pieces she had with her was where the socket makes contact with the plug. So nothing to grab on to.... BUT, the porcelain stayed there. So, she busted out the porcelain, and now has the electrode sticking out of plug, all the way to the tip. I never realized just how tough that electrode is.... she's going to have fun getting that out.

The parts jockey at Vatozone was telling her to take the head off. I told her that is LAST resort. Made me happy to own a 2V, LOL.

Ha, yea - I'd rather have the 2v as well. Now here's something interesting I discovered....

Dorman sells this spark plug repair kit that comes with an insert, a short boot and a 3v plug. I've always passed it by online thinking it was for 3v motors - but it's not. The insert which is like a defouler, pulls the electrode away from the cylinder - so they include a 3v plug so it can reach after the repair. Was Ford thinking this same thing when they "improved" the Triton in 2004?

Also LMFAO @ "Vatozone"... had to run in there recently for some brake cleaner and there were two huge piles of cat litter in the parking lot (soaking up oil) and a honda civic on four jackstands.

I replaced the front hubs on my truck in the autozone lot. My driveway isn't flat and my wife hates my friends. Granted all I left were two piles of rust I knocked off while removing the rotor. It was nice, had easy access to a couple tools I didn't have (but now do.)

Haha, that is funny

Nothing wrong with fixing in the lot. I've fixed on the side of a highway, the parking lot for an adult sex store, and even in a stranger's driveway once. Gotta get it done!

An autozone near me has actually had a sign outside "No Working on Cars" which I found odd since this was the same store with the civic on jackstands without wheels or cv axles, and nobody around.

Some will and some won't. I called and asked before I went up there though.

Huh! Brainstorm, set up a staging area in their parking lot. Work out a deal with Autozone, - FREE loaner program when you let the parking lot guys fix your ride. Big business ehh. Throw in a renta junker or something.

There was someone trying to do something similar. Had the tire off and getting ready to pull the calipers and "hey dude I can fix your car, I'm a certified mechanic."

I responded "If you fixed it for me I'd have to pay you where I can buy more parts and do it myself."
