I have certainly thought about it cuz I got go rhino tune steps right now and the one on my passenger side is all dented in from some rocks down out to the river. But it beats a door getting caved in at the bottom...but I definitely am thinking about getting some tabbed up. It will prolly be the same time when I get my headache rack built

NFab makes some harley bars you could weld steps to. http://www.n-fab.com/products/sfID1/.../productID/230. They dont make rock sliders for our Fords.

I have some Westin sport tubes on my truck which are kind of like rock sliders. Which is why I got them but the little turn downs on the end are a little to street for me... And you can't exactly step on them either so I don't really like them but they look better than the old running boards

I want it to stick out a couple inches to keep me from sliding into a tree and denting my truck up bad

Then you'll have to make some... I wouldn't recommend these for serious offroad anyhow.
