Default Replacement Valve Covers

I'm looking to find some replacement valve covers. Not looking for anything special or fancy, just need them for a build (5.4 2v 13/14 bolt). Online, it looks like OEM plastic covers are just as much as a set of aftermarket trick-flows or BBK....am I missing something?

You're not missing anything. There's not much in the way of aftermarket. ..even less for windsors now days. Stick with stock, you'll be glad you did.

There are lots available but usually in the $300-$500 range. Not worth it

What factory valve covers are compatible with the 5.4 2v? I'm assuming lightning's and 4.6 2v like the Mustang GT, F150, etc. as long as they have the right 13/14 bolt pattern...is this correct?

Ford Racing has the best looking cam covers IMO. They're powder coated Ford Blue. The 3 or 4 valves look the best tho.

Hit the junkyard and clean the valvecovers up & paint them. That's what'd id do. OEM always fits the best

That's what I'm thinking. I was just hoping to widen my selection if the 2v Mustang covers are the same. Junkyards are crawling with Stangs...not many Expys or F150s with parts left in the yards near me.

Yes sir, had a set on my DOHC Cobra (Never should have sold that car ) They were beautiful! This isn't a fancy build, so I don't need anything that nice....especially since you cant see most of the engine in these trucks once they are stuffed in the engine bay.

any 2v cover should be the same as long as the bolt patterns are the same. the heads on the trucks were interchangeable so I dont see why a stang cover wouldnt work.
