Default Replaced Speed Sensor......

1997 F150 4.6l 2wd. Over 300K miles. Trans shifts into OD at will at any speed. Trans also slips when taking off, also slips into neutral when cruising at any speed. I replaced Speed Sensor. These problems have gotten worse since replacing the sensor. Haven't ran the codes yet.

I've heard could be bad Speed Sensor

Throttle Sensor and or Transmission Range Sensor

Where to go from here????? Thanks....

James

First thing I would ask is when was the last time you changed the fluid and filter?

Replace or rebuild is an option, but I chose the path of the least resistance 1st.

I didn't get to see, I had it done. The mechanic didn't say, so I'll assume it wasn't a lot.......or not enough to make a fuss over

The Tranny Shop just come for my truck. The owner of the shop picked it up and asked a bunch questions about the maintenance and care of it. We talked and for about 10 minutes and away she went. Hope to here some kind of good news in the next few hrs or a day or two, yeah I know how these things go.

Just hurry up and wait
