removing govenor

Default removing govenor

i would like to remove the govenor off my 00 f150 5.4L just need to know how to do it and where its at

You need to use a programmer. It's electronically limited.

I know my Edge will allow me to remove it, maybe not completely eliminate it, but I have it set at 199 mph.
Don't know about the other programmers though.

There is no "govenor" persay, its a limit that is set within the Engines computer and the only way to remove it is to buy a handheld flasher of some sort for your truck. But its a truck, why in the heck do you want to go faster than the factory limit? You sound like a young kid with not a lot of know-how.... so just be safe.

X2, these trucks aren't made to go fast, it's NOT SAFE, the only f150 I would trust to go "fast" in is a lightning and certainly not of public roads

well it aint the speed thing i could care less bout that cause like yall said its a truck and its to tall and not stable enough to go to fast i just heard that it altered the shift points and i dont know a whole lot bout computer controlled motors yet im used to workin on older trucks but i was just wanderin bout it cause i do alot of towing

The speed limeter[governer] has no effect on shift points or any thing else until you reach the governed speed. shift points and firmness [AKA harshnes] can be changed with a hand held tuner. if your not looking to go fast dont waste your money
