Default Removed Silencer

i have a flowmaster 40 si/do with 16 inch long 3 inch pipes and a k&N, when i did gotts mod i noticed a tiny bit deeper tone, yesterday i removed the silencer and this is what i came up with,, b4 the silencer removal for my flowmaster to have the loudest deepest rumble was at 16-18k rpms now after the removal i have the same but the range increased and will stay n that sweetspot from 16-20k and when its around 20k it is definitly louder and deeper (to me) than it was when its "cutoff" was at 18k, it also took away some rasp
although next week ill be replacing the MAF (filter to throttle body) with 3inch aluminum piping (:

as you can see the one end all torn to hell, i also removed mine without taking the "cupplet" with the sensor off, i jus cut the ends up with a knife and pulled it out with a pair of wire cutters lol
you can see where you loose air, theres a hole n the damn thing! (hence silencer)

and finally my new tubing that when i have time will replace all my hardwork lol

or maybe i wont replace it, i like the sound i ahve now, and if i put that pipe in there its sure to change, maybe ill take the MAF body out, reach in there wipe it all down nice n good, and then spray the inside with chrome, so itll act like a metal surface and maybe will make it cooler (temp wise) from the air rushing past a smoother "metal" surface? orr, it could end badly and the paint could start to chip and then end up n the engine ): haha

so are you keeping the plastic tubing or going with the alum? i agree that the metal surface will be less turbulent to the airflow, how will you meet it up with the stock air box and with the TB?
