Default remote start/entry?

I should start by saying I'm an electronics noob. I'm looking to do remote start for my 00 5.4 4x4 automatic. Any kits that you would recommend? How's the install? And is it possible to get one with keyless entry. I don't have keyless on my truck now but I think it used to. It is a loaded 2000...

Thanks for your help

I'm somewhat new to it too but i know how to wire things up in vehicles. First off, Viper is one of thee best brands out there as far as alarms and remote starts. They have decent support online and over the phone. Second, the install is not a walk in the park but can be handled if you at least know basic pos neg wiring. Depending on who you buy from they will give you a sheet specific to your truck for what wires your looking for and what colors. I have a website that has that info if they dont give you one. Now, again not a walk in the park as remote start involves tapping into your ignition wires, acc wires, ect. You can get kits that have seperate keyless and remote start but probably come with the alarm too. You can do keyless if you have power locks and depending on what model you have it might need bypasses. I know i'm throwing alot at you but bare with me. I jumped into a keyless entry remote start and alarm system not really knowing what i was getting myself into. Keep all this in mind. Dont want to scare you from doing a diy project but heres the facts.

i just did this a month or so ago. i got the bulldog kit from autozone, the remote start and keyless entry together. about $100. easy to install, just take off the panel under the steering wheel and all the wires you need are there. the manual and wiring diagrams are fairly easy to read. check out the12volt.com

let me know if you need any help
