I'm sure Jacked is gonna be all over this.. But there's been talk about a big storm next month where I live and the route I take to school, people usually end up in ditches or the fields.. So the good guy I am, I usually pull them out. I wanna get ready before we actually get winter.. So I need some opinions on like a quick recovery set up. No one wants to be out long in storms.. I'm thinking tow chains on the bull bar? Like how they hang them in the front. I've seen one guy on here do it.

 

A winch would be better

 

Yeah, but I don't feel like paying $300+ for a winch. Lol

 

Recovery strap and a big D ring is all you need. Chains break. Bulk bars break. Your hitch won't. Once you unhook from the vehicle toss the one end of the strap in your bed and be on your way. Doesn't get much quicker than that.

 

I would imagine that chains on a Bull bar would scratch the finish of the Bull bar and cause rust. Also, doesn't a Bull bar mount where the factory tow hooks are - replacing the tow hooks? I'd think tow hooks would be stronger. How about a thick tow rope and a couple of "D" rings?

Of course someone is gonna have to make it dirty, and yeah, they do mount up where the tow hooks do so those are gone. I would imagine it would hook up somewhere under the bar so you don't rub the finish off. Not sure though.

 

Lol sorry, opportunity was there, but I'd just get a tow strap and a come-along.

 

Lmao yeah, I woulda too it's okay. What about a twisted clevis? We just bought one for our off road rescue pickup truck at the fire hall.
