Reason for bent leaf spring?
I have a bit of a problem on my hands with my 2001 f150. I almost never carry any heavy loads in the box but still managed to bend one of my leaf springs (not both) Because of this the rear axle sits at a slight angle, as in twisted towards the front for the truck. To compensate for this, the front tires have to be turned slightly to drive straight and the whole body moves forward sitting at a slight angle, which is annoying, wears the tires, and is probably dangerous. Does anyone know what would have caused this and how I could change things to prevent it happening again? (heavier leaf springs maybe?) It has a 5 inch lift (simple blocks in the rear) Would 7700 series springs work better and would they fit? If not what other options are there?
how tall are your blocks in the back? It sounds like you got axle wrap and thats usually due to rear lift blocks. Google axle wrap and you will see what I am talking about. In order to prevent this from happening again look for some deaver leaf springs. They will lift the back of your truck the "right" way. They are really pricey, so your other options could be downsizing the blocks, getting lift shackles, and an add a leaf kit. That should do the trick as long as you dont do an excessive amount of offroading, and it would cost about half as much as the deavers.

Yeah it seems like axle wrap to me because it is in that s shape. Would I be able to get away with an anti wrap bar and some heavier springs? Its gone 170 000 kms with the lift and only just happened now. The other options are all possibilities, I just havent found a place near me that builds springs yet.
