Default Rear disc brake conversion

98 5.4 I was wondering if it is possible to. Swap the drums for disc brakes and how expensive it would be for parts

Use will either have to grab everything off an 99+ axle brake wise. OR swap the axle with one that has disks

X2. I'd swap rear ends. More than likely it'll be cheaper and easier.

is it even worth it? the rear provide only 30% of overall braking. It could have benefits when there is a heavy load in the back but could lead to grabby brake situation when the bed is empty and ground is wet. Will it have ABS? There also is the bling factor.

Just my opinion. What do you guys think?

I think it would be worth it. It's much easier to replace brake pads than shoes and hardware.

I've done a rear axle swap, it's easy as hell. All you have to do is unbolt the U bolts, disconnect the brake lines, disconnect the drive shaft and it's out, if that's what you mean. Weather you have drum or disk brakes, you still have to deal with axle shafts, if thats what you mean.
