Rear Axle Underwater
Hello, I recently purchased a stand up jet ski without a trailer so I will be putting it in the truck bed when traveling. When I launch it, I will be backing up the truck into the lake so its easier to launch and load the jet ski. The water level will likely go above the rear axle. I made sure the diff vent hose is connected and routed up into the frame. Besides that, is there any other areas where water can get into the rear end that would cause damage?
Thanks for the help!

IIRC the water intrusion is going to come from the sides of the axle. Not sure there's much you can do there to prevent it. I'd buy a trailer or being changing the diff fluid often.
Might want to invest in some waterproof parts like mentioned in this link. A little preventative maintenance can go a long way

As long as your not going far(like just down the street), and not driving fast(under 25mph), you can use a small garden or landscapers trailer(for longer distances or higher speeds), it would be just like having it in the bed of the truck, be cheaper and be dual purpose.
This is a horrible idea.
Ramps get covered with slick algea
You can get stuck easy
Even with 4wd
Then you have to get out and wade thru knee + deep water, then get back in truck dripping wet.
Just look at youtube clips for things that go wrong. From ramming jetski into back of cab, to sinking truck.
Submerge tailpipe ....It may take foot on throttle to keep the engine running. And you will not be able to restart it if it dies. It will have to be not submerged in order to restart.
Jetski trailers are cheap. If you cant afford a trailer, you cant afford a jetski
