Default Rear ABS sensor

If my rear ABS sensor is bad or going bad would that effect my speedometer as well?

I just bought a 2003 F150 Crew Cab and my ABS light is on and stays on all the time, for the $20 sensor I thought I would just swap it out and see if that fixed the light and if not hey I have a new sensor

First post as well!

Default Rear ABS sensor

Welcome to the fold! That sensor on top is a speed sensor. If you have it lit then just go to advanced and have them use the abs code reader so you know what to replace.

I'd check codes first. Might not even be a speed sensor. Could be a corroded wire to the HCU pump. Common problem.

Thanks for the welcome!

I did take it in and had the codes pulled. Two codes - one for the rear sensor, which I had already replaced, and the other for left input sensor. So guess what I will be doing this weekend. I had already looked at the wiring and there was no evident damage and the connection looked good. It is at times like these that I wish i knew how to use a meter... lol

Do you have 2-wheel abs? That sensor isnt the hardest thing to change.

It is 4x4, I am changing the left front sensor tomorrow and that should do it. Had the codes read and that is what they pointed at, so hopefully that will do it.
