Default radio quit working

after not driving truck for a couple of weeks, went out to drive and radio would not light up or work. I can press on clock button and it will come on with correct time for 10 seconds. Any ideas?

fuse is good any other ideas. There must be some power to it if I can press the clock button to set time and it lights up with correct time for 10 sec.

Default Same Problem

It looks like there is memory power to the factory radio. The clock comes on for 10 seconds, but when you push the radio to turn on, nothing. Checked the fuses and it they are good. I thought it was the head unit, so I got another similar radio from the junkyard and same thing.

So just making sure you checked the fuse in the fuse panel under the dash and the fuse in the radio?

Default Found the culprit

Okay, I found the culprit. The fuse panel under the dash. The #8 fuse is worn out. When I put the mini fuse in there, it just falls out. It falls out like there isn't suppose to be a fuse there.

I just cut a strand of some copper wire, stuck it in there with the mini fuse to hold it. Then the radio works.
