I am going to replace my lower radiator hose on my 03 5.4 f150. Anyone have any tips and tricks on how to do so?

Let engine cool down, drain radiator, remove hose clamps, remove hose, clean up spilt coolant cz you thought it all drained and it didn't. Slide hose clamps over new hose, re install new hose, clamp hose, fill with coolant, follow ford procedure for refilling coolant and burping the system, drink a beer and be happy you didn't pay a shop $$$$& to do a simple job

Hopefully you don't have the POS lower hose with the o-rings. My Expedition had one, and they are a PAIN to remove. I swapped it to the regular style, and it's never leaked a drop. Good luck if so!

Use real hose clamps.

While other hoses might be satisfactory, some are really cheap looking compared to motorcraft
