Quick oil filter question

Default Quick oil filter question

okay so ive owned 2, 97's now. my first one had the oil filter up by the block, were all oil filters are. but on my new one, the filter is behind the front bumper with etra hoses going back to the block, was this a factory option? ik the filters a PITA to get to, is this just something to make it earier or what? anyone know the difference?

i dont think you understood my question lol im just trying to figure out if my oil filter being up under the front bumper was a factory option or what, never seen it before.

It's a oil filter relocation kit, came on 97/98s as an option , jus something ford thought they could get money for by making changing oil easier

yea thats exactly what i figured, you think its worth havin on there? if anything i feel like it would use more power, and im always worried its gunna get hit with rocks and stuff

Buddy of mine has a 98 with it behind the bumper. They make a box you can bolt on that protects it. That's what he has. Not sure who makes it or where he got it but you can always use the ole google on these here Internet machines
