Default Quick axle shaft question

So I was swapping in new pinion bearings when I noticed the axle shafts bearing surface is corroded and the chrome finish is wearing poorly, most likely due to the fact the truck is from Chicago and some road salt and debris got into the bearing and started to deteriorate the bearing surface. so my question is would a set of expy axle shafts from the junk yard work? I have the H9 axle ( 9.75 3.55 LS ) and I know the expy's had that same axle, but didnt know if the shaft length was the same. Of course id get new wheel bearings for rear end, but wanted the opinions of the members on here if you think used shafts would be ok? I would by new if I had to, not to big a deal, but just thought if i could pull some good ones out of a rear end at the junkyard I could save a few hundred bucks. Thanks as always,

Shouldn't be a problem. AFAIK there were no differences in the axels.

thanks man, i think the only real difference is the fact the expys are rear coil opposed to rear leaf suspension. but thanks, hopefully they have a good looking set, plan on running there thursday. thanks again!

Let me look and make sure that they have the same spline count but I wouldn't think ford would go through the extra expense to make that a possibility.

Thank you AK. I had a feeling you would know exactly what he needed to know.

Just another possibility for you..... These change the surface area of where the bearing contacts the axle by shifting it inward.

Man, wasnt expecting those to be 60$, but thanks 89GT, thats very helpful. I will have to look into that. If i can find some good ones at the pull a part by me i may just swap those in and get some new timken bearings. but thats interesting..
