Default questions on purchase

Hi group,

I have a few questions on a 2002 F150. I am wanting to have a vehicle that I can take off road a bit. I will mostly be on trails, but will have mud, water, and rocks. I have a line on a 2002 F150 King Ranch. It has a 5.4L motor short box and crew cab (I think, it has 4 regular doors). Now the scary to me anyway part. It has 130,000 miles. Is that too many? Will this truck be ok for what I want to do with it? I understand it isn't a Jeep, but will it go most places? Now for price, he is asking $7500.

I welcome any input.

Thanks

Id jump on that deal. I got my 03 fx4 with the 5.4 last year with 165000 miles and is by far the best truck I've ever owned. I traded my sportster plus $1500 for it.

And it should take you most places offroad with a decent set of ties and some skill driving offroad.

Ill give you my truck and ill take the king ranch
But really, thats a hell of a deal. I got my 2002 supercab fx4 5.4 with 117,000 for 8400. Clean as a whistle. If u read the forums more these trucks can get up to 250,000 or more as long as they are maintained. Buy the truck.

Talking 02 screw

I got my 02 Screw with 150,000 Got her for $8,000 and she's worth every penny originally a southern truck it's in beautiful shape and runs like a champ. I'd jump on a KR for that price if it's in good shape. Good luck.

It depends on the terrain, tires, and the drivers ability to know what needs to be done in certain situations. I have taken my truck on Jeep trails, and been able to keep up them with no problems.

Another question. Knowing this truck has 130,000 miles on it, are there specific issues or trouble spots that I need to either check out or have checked out?

What would you say the truck is worth if it has a bit a hail damage and the paint, almost all of it has little dings that the paint is cracked in 3 lines meeting in the same point almost all over the truck. They are small about the size of a nickle but lots and lots of them.

I paid 7500 for mine from a dealership and it had 118k so i would try an talk him down with cracked paint and dents everywhere. I know have 130k and she still burns no oil and runs awesome. as far as offroad i drive on ice 7-9 months out of the year and my truck does better than my jeep does on ice. and for mud i hit every mudhole i see and haven't even been close to stuck she crawls through everything.
