Anyone program or chip a 97 f150? 4.6 auto 4x4 Did it make a big difference and what brand did you use? Looking for better shift points and maybe some horsepower/torque gains.

SCT x3/x4 and use MPT or 5 Star tuning. Can get better/firmer shifting, but minimal power gains and no cost effective mileage ganins (if any at all). At least $300 for a (used) tuner and tunes, more like $400 and up for new.

While I don't regret mine, I would not do it again (and I spent $200 for a used tuner and $50 for a tune from MPT)
