Default pro comp es9000

I recently bought a set of es9000's for my 02 f150 fx4 and im having trouble with the upper shock mount. My problem is once I get the rubber bushing and washer on I cant grab any threads. Is there a trick im missing or something? Does anyone has any experience with installing these shocks? And thoughts or suggestions are appreciated! Also I have called pro comps tech department and they haven't given many answers.

It sounds like the shock is too short. Is this for the front or rear? Have you compared the new shock to the old shock for length to make sure it will work? Is the truck lifted at all?

My 9000's were the same way, but my old bushings were still good so I used them and it worked just fine.

That was my original thought that they were too small but pro comps tech assured me they were the right size, the stock ones are pretty shot so im going to try cutting the new ones in half and give that a shot

make sure they are seated properly, but dont cut them in half, maybe a 1/4 inch off the top bushing is plenty, i had the same problem with the same shocks

Update, ended up having to run a die over the threads the top couple were stripped. But after doing that i took about a 1/4 in off both bushings and they went on really easy. Thanks again for the advice guys!

i ended up soaking a rag in laquer thinner and threading it in the rag and then wire brushed the threads free of all the paint because i didnt have the right die. they should add a few more threads on that shaft in my opinion, glad you got it sorted out
