Default Power window

I replaced the driver side window motor about 5 months ago. Lately it has made a noise going down that sounded like the gears were jumping teeth. Replaced it again today and that sound went away. Now it goes down fine but going up at the half way mark it slows way down, like it is binding, before finally speeding back up and closing fine. Is there any adjustment, or is the regulator going bad? It is a 1997 F- 150 so it does not have the cable system. Thanks for your help.

My '97 does the same thing, I always figured it was the motor. Curious to see what it turns out to be for you. Was it hard to replace the motor? Did you have to take the glass out?

Sounds like the curved pane is pinching or grabbing in the track. Work some lubricant down in there on both sides and cycle the window up and down.

Red-Ford, window motors aren't hard to replace. Grind off the rivets, remove, replace, and replacement motors are resecured with bolts instead. There's no need to remove the glass, you just have to keep it up out of the way. Trickiest part really is finagling the motors and your hands in and out of the door cavity.
