Default Power steering problem

My power steering goes out only when turning left. Is there anything I can try to fix this before buying a new rack and pinion?

When you say "goes out" you are saying it has no assist or lack of assist turning left?
And, turning right it has full assist?
That would be a control valve problem in the gear
Your alignment is close and no hard pull right?
Hate to see you replace the gear if not needed
Jump through a few hoops on the alignment and tire pressure / configuration first
If all that is okay, replace the steering gear

That's exactly right. Can you you run me through what I should try before before replacing the steering gear? I replaced the steering gear 6 months ago and it was working great and then the assist went out for left turns while driving a couple days ago.

You got a bad reman gear it sure looks like then
Assist problems left versus right are control valve issues which is internal to the gear
As far as what to run through as pre checks
A good tech is just going to make sure it is a gear problem and not a truck problem by driving the truck and seeing is it does not pull hard enough to put you in a ditch
If the problem just happened and the truck drives fine otherwise, I would be done with any additional diagnosis and be replacing the gear again at this point

Any time you replace a steering gear you have to follow the proper ADJUSTMENT procedure. There's one out there for your truck. It involves removing the steering wheel .... Etc.

All there is to adjust is the sector shaft and that should have been done during the overhaul
That adjustment has nothing to do with lack of assist
You did not screw up your gear
