Yep, it gets seized in there and a becomes a damn pain to break loose. Also agree about getting that fram filter off of there.
when I worked in my uncles shop, and still now if someone brings me their car for an oil change and brings a fram filter to put on, I refuse. I'm not gonna be liable for engine damage they are known for caused by a garbage oil filter. I've pissed some people off doing that but that's better than paying for a new motor in someones car

fram filters are a joke. the filtering material is like cardboard. they are not well made and have been known to break up and pieces of the filter ran though the motor. some scary stuff

I would be very curious as to why the power steering pulley shaft snapped. Worth checking the belt tensioner and correct length belt fitted (if its too short will put extra stress on all pulleys). When you get replacements installed run the engine and check that all the pulleys are running true and not wobbling around.

Its a remanufactured pump from oreilly. Only one i could get. 3 reviews saying that their bad to begin with until you get a good one. I lost my last belt so the one on now is brand new. Maybe 20 miles. My money on everything. The pump. Broken steering box. And idler. Shes a rusty old girl. My project.

Even though its remanufactured it shouldn't fail like that. Hopefully you can get a refund on the pump. Stick with the project if its too easy it would be boring. 👍
