Question Power door locks

Hey I just got my 2000 F-150 about a month ago. It's a really awesome truck but my power door locks have never worked on either door. When I press the buttons the locks will make a noise and move a little bit attempting to lock or unlock but it doesn't work. I can lock and unlock the doors fine manually but it would be nice to use the power. Anyone know what could be wrong?

mine does the same thing, id also like to know the answer to this. the drivers side works about ten times then starts losing power, the passenger side works like once a month.

You need new door lock actuators. You can fix them youself but they are really cheap on ebay. Let me see if i can find the post on another site to fix em. They re real easy to fix

x2 mudduck. If the lock rods twitch it's definitely the actuators. They are relatively cheap and easy to replace.

just get a new actuator, i think it was only like 20 bucks when i replaced mine. But you'll need to remove the entire door panel to get to it
