Locks work fine when key is off and with Key Fob but when the truck is running they wont lock or unlock. Anybody have a clue what it could be? I have researched it and haven't been able to come up with anything. 2003 xlt supercrew 2wd. TIA

 

Do you mean they don't lock/unlock with the fob while running, or the buttons don't work?
I *think* the fob may be disabled with the ignition in the "RUN" position (but would have to check to be sure).

Key Fob and all door switches work to lock / unlock when key is off. Door switches do not work at all when key is to run.

 

Exactly what Ohio and Brad said. The system override is locked out when the key is in run mode. I just have a second key. Just use a regular key blank so it only opens the doors.

 

My issue isnt the key fob. When the truck is running i have no power locks. When the truck is off i have full use of power locks ( with both door switches and key fob) . Looking for what could cause this

 

inside power lock s not working with the switch? All windows? possible broken wire in door harness, bad switch, bad GEM etc.

 

Everything works perfect with key OFF. Only the locks dont work with key ON. Windows, mirrors, ect work all the time with no issues.

 

And its actually only when the truck is running. With just acc on it works.

 

Do you have an auto-start on this truck?

 

No I dont. Dont know if a previous owner did or not but im not aware of one
