As long as you have the money, do it. But just remember there is ALOT of custom fabbing to be done and alot of money... And Farmboy sells brackets, but there's still alot of customizing you have to do yourself.. No bolt on SAS for our trucks..
well im thinking about going with a d44 up front cause im not doing any serious off roading all im doing is mudding and a d60 for the rear and a d44 should hold a 6bt cummins just tell me what you guys think

yeah a 1000hp is going to be sweet but im going with about 500-600 hp but im gonna start out cheap with just turning up the star wheel and moving fuel plate full forward and i still might go with d60's there is someone locally sell front and rear d60's for about 1500 OBO but i dont have the money at the time but the d44 i was looking at is about 200 OBO
(front only) and the cummins wont be for a while so cause i can get the d60 rear for 200 and d44 front for 200 and be set for now

Im by no means trying to change your mind because that would be a sweet set up but just giving a little advice. I've been looking into doing a cummins swap on my truck also and this is what i've found out: The 6bt is almost 2x as heavy as the 4bta, and if your only wanting to go with a d44 i think you might have some problems down the road imo unless you really beef up your suspension. Also the 6bta is an extremely tight fit, there is a maybe half an inch room for error so i've heard. Personnaly i've decided that im gonna swap in the 4bta because its alot simpler and i don't need 1000hp, the 500hp i've heard guys getting out of them seems really attractive to me expecially with 25+mpg and the ONLY difference between the two is 2 cylinders. I know i've heard that its alot easier to find 6bt's then it is to find 4bta's but if your going to take your time on that part of the build and just keep a look out for one im sure you could get a good deal. Just my .02 but a 6bt would be a ton of fun i can image!
i really dont want to do to an I-4 cause ill will to some heavy towing occacionaly but d44's are in 3/4 tons so i should be safe to tow 10,000 lbs and im going to run a d60 in the rear where it really counts
