Default Plugs!!!

I have a 2002 f-150 5.4L with 85k on it. I am wondering when to do plugs? I have heard they are good for 100k from factory. Is that true or should I put a set of plugs in my truck? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

yes 100k is what the factory says, your getting close, if you still take it in to the dealer i would get them in the next few thousand miles

I'm sure hoping it helps my truck. It gets around alright, I've got 113k on the clock though, pretty sure the p[lugs havent been done. Plan on doing plugs and all the other tune-up stuff in a couple hundred miles when the oil is due.

I've been thinking about swapping my plugs out as well (90k miles on the odo). Any reccomendations on brands? Would it be safe to say a good, "middle of the road" brand/price plugs would be my best bet? I haven't done any preformance mods, and I don't plan to either.

Stick with Motorcraft plugs, do a search on here, plenty of us regret trying something else, especially avoid Bosch. Made my 4.2L run like complete hell.

Hey thanks guys! I would have probably gotten Bosch plugs because they seemed to work really well in my old Nissan. Motorcraft it is!
