I have an 03 4.6 and I was wondering which gives you more hp gains a chip or programmer? And which brand/model would be best for my truck

Don't call them chips or you won't hear the end of it. Sct tuner with custom tunes is by far the best for our motors

Sct is the best for our motors. End of story. Edge was a good close 2nd when php was doing custom tunes but pretty sure they aren't anymore which puts sct easily #1

A tuner with custom tunes is always going to be better than a single performance tune on a chip. And SCT is definitely the way to go. More Power Tuning wrote the tunes we're running on our 2010 5.4 and they're a night and day difference over stock and even the canned SCT tunes.
