Patman mod
I'm sure there's tons of info on this but I figured I'd show how I did it. This mod involves cutting out the oval behind the ford emblem on a 99-03 honeycomb grill and splicing in a section from the another identical grill. This way you can run a smooth grill without an emblem or ugly oval.
Basically all you need
2 grills
Fine tooth hacksaw blade
Sand paper and or a dremel
Jb quick weld worked well for me.
This is an extra grill I got from work. I'll be using the beat up grill off my truck as a donor

Next I cut out the oval. This is easily done with just a hacksaw blade by hand.

After I got the oval out I lined it up on the donor grill to match and used spray paint to mark my cuts.

I cut the section out as straight as I could, leaving room for error.

Now I began fitting it in. Matched the lengths as well as I could. Using a dremel with a grinding bit tweaked the section until it fit in and held itself in place. This really just takes patience.

At this point I used the quick weld and basically filled in the gaps and secured the new section. Used sandpaper and the dremel to smooth out the angles and edges until it looked decent enough.

Primer, paint and install!
I'm happy enough.

want to send me a piece of the grill?
I like this look. I don't like the big oval on the grill, and don;t like the look of the other aftermarket grills without the oval there.
Good job though.

Thanks man. I actually have to make a couple more for friends out of this donor. With the curvature of the insert, I don't think you'd be happy using one of the flatter sections from the edges out of mine.
