I have the 5.4 v8, and picked the part up yesterday morning. Thank you though.

I went ahead and bought the bypass pulley, I dont need the air where I live, and hardly use it anyway. Christmas coming up, I wanted to spend as little as possible. Also another question if you may know. The sound, (knocking) will do it constantly. But if I turn my heat on. It stops for awhile. Usually a few hours after turned back off. Any clue?

I bought the pulley today to bypass it. Although today while driving the sound was constant knocking. But when I turned my heat on, it stopped knocking, even for awhile after the heat was back off. I could just turn it on, and right back off. And the sound would be gone for awhile. Anyone have a clue?

You do know the defrost function uses the compressor as well. If its unplugged not an issue, just wont defrost as quick or as good.

knocking? like when and where is the sound? Is it ideling?

Yeah I know, I have had no deforst in vehicles before. It sucks but ill get by untill I can get the money to replace lol. Knocking sound is coming from, it seems lower engine. I had another post on here. Someone that lives next to me told me cam bearings. The sound isnt muffled at all. Perfect oil pressure. Clean oil. The ac compressor is making noise, and it makes sense, since it is coming from passenger side lower. Does it at idle, and when driving. Higher the RPM faster the knock. If heat is turned on it will stop.

These trucks don't have cam bearings, so it's not that.

Yeah that is what someone else told me. After I told the person next door that said that. He just agreed that it was a AC compressor problem. Lol idk about him.

Yeah but to be honest the sound is really loud. And it is a little hard to hear where it is coming from just by naked ear. As it echos all around.
