Default In the park and electrical problems

The only way I can drive the truck is turn the key one click, put it in neutral and start it. Every time I put it in park I can not shift out. Parking brake light is on the windows, wipers and interior lights will not Work. Once in drive The truck runs beautifully. I checked all of the fuses and could not see any problems with them. I need some advice

Drawing on the posts i have read here- if it was me, i would check the brake on/off switch or the GEM module. The GEM is piggybacked to the fuse box under the dash and is sensitive to water-( seems most folks have a leaky windshield as the culprit)- as far as the BOO switch,- i have no experience on our year trucks with them- if you search, you may find some excellent threads on it from very knowledgeable fellers.- regards, Bear

You can try checking the arm on the transmission to see if it's just not fully engaging it into park

Fuse number 14. Keeps blowing (15 amp) once in everything works even the shifter. When blown the truck cannot get out of park, the wipers, power windows and interior lights do not work. Where do I start and how can I track down the short

I'd start by making sure the column shifter is tight. It sounds like it is loose under the dash. You can look up directly at the column and see 2 brass colored #30 torx screws. They come loose and can cause a short in the plug. They also keep the shifter in line, so it would start again in park. Tighten them if they are loose and put in a new fuse. You should be good to go. Good luck.
