Default Painted dashboard ??

My 03 Reg cab has the standard grey interior, and I've accented it by painting some smaller pieces (door handle trim, power window/lock trim, radio bezel) white to match the exterior.

A buddy suggested I paint the remaining exterior pieces black, including the entire dashboard. I was wondering has anyone ever done this kind of job before ? Would I be able to just use the Krylon Fusion for Plastic black satin paint like I did with the white ? For the white interior pieces I cleaned them, sanded, sprayed an adhesion promoter, primed, and then painted and clear coated.

I don't think I'd clear coat a black dashboard due to not wanting a bright reflection from the sun while I'm driving, but I think it would be okay for one coat to protect it.

What is yalls opinions ? Is this something youve done or know anyone who has ? Pics ? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks !

How long should it take to pull the dash ? I work during the week and would only have a Friday night thru Sunday night for the whole project...I don't want to rush anything, but also don't want to be stuck driving without a dash lol

I did the dash and a switch housings on my 06 F150. It was a pain. had to remove the dash took about 2 hours or so. but well worth it. make sure if you decide to do it that you take your time and prep. if not, itll be all for nothing.

toughest screws for me were between the door sil and dash, had to buy an offset crescent wrench and trim the lip of the dash where the bolt was. Also a few under the surfboard on top. My interior was gray before

Just use a quality interior paint. If you want black I recommend using Ebony. Its a factory color. I recently replaced a few piece in my 03 and used SEM and the match was perfect.
I also used SEM's satin clear to give it the factory appearance.
