p0405 code?

Default p0405 code?

Hi guys. So i got my buddy to scan my engine light code and this is what it said:
P0405. Exhaust gas. Recirculatuon sensor a. Circuit low

What does this mean?

I got the same code. I changed my EGR, cleaned the whole throttle body and I still have this code.

Replace your EGR valve. Then clean your throttle body, pay attention to the 2 ports where the EGR goes. If that doesnt fix it, could be a vacuum leak.

Can a person use throttle body cleaner to check for vacuum leaks?

Im not sure....At work we have a "smoke machine" that connects to the vacuum system to check for leaks.

Circuit low sounds like a power issue

Im gonna check the voltage tomorrow and for vacuum leaks....then clean the egr valve. Probly needs it anyways

Okay. Do some research, because "a circuit"
Sounds like there could be a "B circuit" too. So there could be more than one.

DPFE sensor is known to fail due to condensation. Take your sensor off and tap it on the radiator shroud and see if water comes out, if so replace it.
