What motor? Check for vacuum leaks. If no leaks then it's either your pcv valve, maf sensor, or intake manifold gasket.

It's a 5.4 how will I know if its the intake gasket or the maf? I check for vacuum leaks with carb cleaner correct?

Yeah but my intake gasket was leaking and I couldn't tell from carb cleaner. Just spray your maf with designated maf cleaner. Go over all your vacuum lines. If you don't see anything, you could smoke test with a cigar. Light up a cigar, inhale, then exhale into a vacuum line. The smoke will lead you to your leak

Be sure to check the vacuum elbows pieces. They are known to crack.

Cleaning your MAF sensor is just good maintenance and it could very well be your problem. The MAF cleaner available at your local auto parts store is less than $10. While you are there, buy a new PCV valve (also less than $10) as these are cheap also. Look at your vacuum hoses for damage and replace (also cheap) if they are badly cracked or kinked. Save the big job (intake manifold) for last.

You're fine to wait.

It should not be a problem. Forgot in my previous post that it could also be a fuel filter that is not allowing the proper rate of fuel flow. This is also cheap and good maintenance and if it hasn't been done lately, should do it now. Also, adding a bottle of fuel injector cleaner to your next tank of gas will clean up your injectors and might improve the running of your truck.
