Default Overhead compartment

Hey everyone! I have a 2000 F-150 xlt ext cab flareside 5.4 v8. Does anyone know how to remove or replace the overhead compartment that holds the garage door opener and sunglasses??? One of the compartment snapped off and I just wanna superglue it back on but I need to take down the compartment to secure it correctly! Thanks in advance!!!

There is a screw up by the compass and temp read out. take that out and than the back should just pop out. You have to pop the whole unit out before you can take the individual little door compartments off. It has been a while since I did it, but I am pretty sure that is it. There should not be any screws towards the back of the compartment.

nope, checked jegs because after reading this I realised that I want one too lolol. I think best bet is to scour local wrecking yards for 150's and expeditions. Bound to find a decent one somewhere.

You can do one of two things:
1. Repair it yourself, use a fiberglass kit that includes the fiberglass cloth and resin and cut a few pieces of cloth and perform a "wet layup" and fix the door from the inside that does not show the repair while in the closed position (I had to repair the console on my 2001, that is what I did, on the door that holds your sunglasses)

2. scavenger hunt on ebay or craigslist or even a local wrecking yard to find the piece you need, and chances are they wont sell you just one part you need to replace, and buy the whole unit and would run you close to $100.00 later...

Good luck. I'm not exactly sure on the area that needs repair, but I can take a picture and upload it to show how it did it mine.

Pull-a-part's been a bust - literally. I don't have that panel, but was looking to upgrade my '98 to an overhead console from a later model, and it seems like a crowbar was used on every plastic part in the cabin, so expect one in unusable shape - unless you get there 5 min after they put the truck on the lot. Craigslist seems like best bet, as part-outs are available due to accidents or drivetrain failures. Try there first.
