Default Ouch! hidden rock!

So I was driving over some shrubbery yesterday and was surpised to hear the underside of my truck scrape on what looked to be just grass and low lying plants...

Nope giant boulder!!

Well the tbar cross member was mangled and the driveshaft got a scrape like dent around it striped like a candy cane, Haha no big deal as long as I can find the parts for fairly cheap... still drives fine

So my buddy has a xcab short bed that's going to the junkyard but he has the 8.8 rear and I have the 9.75.. Not sure if the driveshaft is the same but I'll find out in the next few days... just gotta find the t-bar xmember now cuz his is beat too

here's my damage

the edge of the passenger rear tire rode up the rock just in time to get the rear diff above it and nothing form the front end touched it! so a couple parts and she'll be fine

My F150 is my first pickup and I think it is great.
But I have come to realize after owning two jeep cherokee 4X4's with heavy duty suspension, that a truck is a truck and a jeep is a a jeep and they are not the same.
Those jeeps went anywhere and nothing could stop them. Both are still running around in the woods taking abuse.
I can only imagine how tough a Wrangler is.
But, I am hooked on the F150 now and I will not be going back to Jeeps so I will be beefing it with parts to try and make it as tough as my jeeps were.
Thanks for posting, I was thinking about skid plates but now I know I am getting them.
