Oil Pressure Problems
Hi all, first time poster.
I purchased a 97 F150 about 1 year ago, no problems until now. It has 240000km, engine rebuilt 65000km ago. The truck has a problem with the oil pressure guage jumping from the center while I am not accelerating in gear (R,D4,2,1). So if I brake at a light it will start jumping - if the truck is cold it will take 15 minutes of driving before this starts.
It sometimes makes a strange ticking noise while driving, the faster I accelerate the faster the ticking noise. I'm not sure if this is a seperate problem, but it only started since the oil pressure guage started acting weird.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!

Don't listen to them they have no clue. There is a little Gnome in the engine that is pissed off and he us using a hammer to show his displeasure..
Other than that put a mechanical oil pressure gauge on the truck and see what its reading. I don't trust the OEM gauges.

Yes when it comes to irradic oil pressure, defintly put a manuel guage on and see what the pressure really is,if the gauge reads normal then you probly have a bad sending unit, but with ticking noise you might have a clogged pickup screen or other problem.
