By far the easiest oil filter I've ever had to change on any Ford. My 98 is right behind the left front bumper corner, and is protected by a splash shield from the weather.

Is it only the 4x2's that have the hard to reach filter, or do some of the 4 bys have that also. I've never seen a non-remote on one, so I'm asking some of you in different locals, where yours is located.

A lot of the mainstream quick lubes developed that filter to fit multiple applications. It fits and it works. I don't know how well, but they did it in a effort to save them money. I worked for one when they made the change. I stuck with using my good ole Motorcraft filter.
