Default Offset back space inset

So I have a good understanding of offset and backspace, but the stock wheels on my truck have an inset of 11mm. Now would that be 11 mm from the front of the wheel? That seems to make the most sense but I can't find an answer on Google.

Thats going to be inset from the center line or the absolute middle of the wheels width, in regards to the mounting surface.
