But yes, it is common.
Every 10th gen owner I know has/had this issue but one,and his issue is the temp display won't work at all.

Knock on wood, but they must have done a good soldering job on mine. Odometer had the issue, but never fully quit. Overhead console has been fine though.

My post was directed at the odometer going blank.

The temp display is very common. Both of my Fords needed soldering (this one needed it twice, a year apart)

Mine started out good but started going blank more frequently so I just fixed it before it just went out for good. But I never had to fix the compass/temp

Same, though it only happened on warmer days, usually at least 80° or above so that it was just enough to soften it up a bit.
