Default Odometer button issue.

Alright guys I disassembled my cluster to change a few blown bulbs with LEDs and fix the odometer blackout. Well I've got it all back together everything works fine except for the button in the cluster that changes from the miles to trip. Any ideas what the issue is?

Probably didn't have the little rubber plunger positioned just right. I did that the first time I tore mine apart, had to take it back apart to adjust the plunger. You'll see what I'm talking about when you take it back apart

It connects to the end of the shaft that you press for the odometer. I think it was orange maybe, but literally looks exactly like a toilet plunger. When you push the shaft to change to trip the plunger pushes a dot on the circuit board

If you have like an old keyboard or some other style electronics with buttons you could probably snag one off it, might have to glue it on the shaft but that could work
