Default Similar Problem

I was having the same problem, but I was also having other strange electrical problems. If the light doesn't turn anything on, only blinks and clicks, you may have a leaking windshield that has fried your GEM that piggy backs your fuse box on the driver side. Mine had moisture when I had my problems and when I dried it out the lights shut off. Seems a lot of fords have a leaky windshield/fried GEM problem. Might try looking for rust stains under driver side dash by the pedals.

Well i went to ford yesterday morning to have them take a look, and hook it up to their machine. i was so worried that the transmission was toast. It was only the rear speed sensor.

Well for the scan on the machine it was like 95 a hour, but it didnt even take an hour.. But I noticed yesterday when i drove a good distance away, the od light came flashing back on. So i called them up and they are getting me in monday morning free of charge to see. because they "suppose" to have fixed my problem. And if its something else they will be taking off what i already paid them.

Well i went back this morning after them test driving the truck and looking at it, they still had nothing. So he told me if it came back on to come back.. i was gone like 15 minutes and back again it keeps showing the sensor that they changed out. So their next thought is the wiring, from the transmission back. They said they guarantee it wont leave me stranded in the near future but if it gets worst have someone look at it. But when it does it if i come to a red light or something turn it off and back on where it will reset itself, because their not sure what mode its going in and it might mess up the transmission over time. My father in law is a mechanic and he is moving up at the end of this month.. so he is planning on taking it. Every now and then i smell burnt wires, should i get a little fire extinguisher just to be safe until then?

that will leave you stranded one day thats how my trans went in my 95 the wires started to melt and one night i was plowing and changed from drive to reverse and "clunk" the wiring fried the computer as well as the trans and tow truck companies hate towing trucks with plows.

Default still doing it..

Well my father in law is mechanic, and he just moved to the state we are in, so he is going to end up taking a look at it. The scan wont find anything except the rear speed sensor.which the ford dealer just put a new one in. I called a Transmission shop today and they will check it all for free. My husband and father in law think that it could be 1st gear going seeing that when you start out slowly it shutters, but the od light never flashes until you go over 50-55 for a bit. The transmission shop thinks that the Ford dealer put the wrong sensor in, or something with the wiring for the sensor. I guess ill see once they check it out. Im reporting the ford dealer to the BBB seeing that they didn't correct my problem as they said!
